The Lipik Sanatorium and its gardens have been renowned back in Austro-Hungary as a destination for successful therapies and a pleasant vacation. The planning and the concept of the park in Lipik resemble the gardens of Central Europe formed alongside the residences and spas. There are two distinct axes going from the north to the south of the park and two transversal axes from the east to the west of the park. The axes serve as the main pathways across the park, bordered by tall trees of linden, common oak, hornbeam and horse chestnut on either side. The park is rimmed with avenues of horse chestnut, maple, catalpa and hornbeam.
In 1965, Lipik's park, as one of the most beautiful parks in Croatia, was protected as a "monument of park architecture".
