The right to health care is realized based on these valid documents: - health insurance card; - supplementary insurance card; - referral by a general practitioner and - approval by the medical committee. Patients are admitted for rehabilitation treatments in the Specialized Hospital Lipik according to the regulations of the Croatian Health Care System. Patients are admitted weekdays from 8:00 to 12:00.
During their treatment in the hospital, patients have the right to a diet according to their beliefs. Type, amount and quality of food depend on the nature of patient’s condition, and are determined by the physician on a case-by-case basis. The information about meals, i.e. the diet prescribed to a particular patient is recorded on the temperature chart. Patients who are prescribed a special diet should not eat food prepared outside of the Specialized Hospital Lipik. Smoking is prohibited in the hospital areas where patients are located. Only a physician can discharge a patient from the Specialized Hospital Lipik. A patient cannot be kept as an inpatient against his or her will. Patients have the right to complain about or praise the work and behaviour of the medical and other staff of the Specialized Hospital Lipik. They can submit their complaints and praises orally to the department head or the department's chief nurse. Written complaints are entered into the Complaints book located in the Admissions office or in the Praises and complaints box located in the physical therapy building. When expressing complaints or praises, it is advisable for patients to state their full name and surname.
If patients are not satisfied with the measures taken by the responsible employees, they can contact the director of Specialized Hospital Lipik. The director is obliged to react to the complaint promptly and within three days to inform in writing the person submitting the complaint about the measures that are being taken. Visitation of patients undergoing inpatient rehabilitation treatments in Specialized Hospital Lipik are permitted on the wards from 15:00 to 17:00 hours on weekdays, and from 10:00 to 17:00 on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays.
During their treatment in the Specialized Hospital Lipik, mobile patients can attend religious services in the hospital chapel, at the time arranged with the religious community.
Patients of other denominations who cannot meet their religious needs in the hospital chapel or the patient's room can, at their request or at their family's request, be permitted a visit from a priest or a religious official after previously contacting the ward’s chief nurse.
